Le président du Tchad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, a annoncé hier soir sa détermination à éradiquer la menace de Boko Haram. L’armée tchadienne a été attaquée par une filiale du groupe islamiste armé il y a quelques jours, dans un village situé sur la rive tchadienne du lac Tchad.
L’attaque a fait 24 morts dans les rangs de l’armée. Le président Déby Itno a promis une lutte renouvelée contre Boko Haram, qui a été responsable d’une série de terrors au Sahel.
L'attaque sur la base militaire de Barka Tolorom est l'une des dernières opérations de Boko Haram. Le groupe islamiste armé a déjà été responsable de plusieurs attentats dans le pays voisin du Nigeria.
